![]() About Michele Goren Drawing and painting people are among Michele's earliest memories. From the age of five she was always busy drawing and painting and at the age of nine, she won her first purple ribbon for a portrait of a fellow student. Michele knew she always wanted to be an artist. She describes it as her passion, "Through my eyes to my heart and soul through my hands." Native of the Midwest, now residing in Florida, she is surrounded by the beauty of the bright sun and ocean.
Michele's first Purple Ribbon, age 8.
Michele had no formal art training. She believes that her talents are a naturally given gift. This gift would not be abused but respected and she always wanted to learn more. She would see paintings by the Masters and wonder how they did what they did. She purchased different mediums, oils, acrylics, watercolors, pastels, inks, etc. and created art that touched people deep within. She taught herself how to sculpt portrait dolls, paint and draw buildings and dwellings, animals, people, religious art, landscapes, still life; it did not stop there. She can reach into the soul of her subjects and capture beauty; bringing life to every color she applies to a painting. Through the years, she has done many exhibitions from the East coast to the West coast with one show earning her a Best Of Show and two First Place wins on two paintings alone. She has completed an Artist in Residence program, taught art classes to emotionally challenged students, made speeches, held discussions and demonstrations on behalf of different organizations. Her art has also been utilized on magazine covers, calendars, prayer books, CD covers and large corporate expositions. Michele is a very diversified artist who wears many hats. She always had a dream, to be a sought after artist who touches as many souls as she can with her art, be it Portraiture, Judaica, Native American, Contemporary or any other style; conveying a spirituality that the viewer will not only see, but deeply feel. "A master artist looks at an entirely different world than someone who lacks his vision. We can all train ourselves to see more deeply. When you see the world as a place in which to do kindness, you see a different world. You see a world full of spiritual opportunities wherever you are and wherever you go. A master artist takes it through their eyes — to their hearts and souls and through their hands." |
